     @goatsarah @da_667 And if phones start drowning at the pace they did 10 years ago, then it will increase the amount of electronic waste instead of reducing it.

     @anderspuck @goatsarah phones with user-replaceable batteries can still be waterproofed. I'd rather have user servicable parts, thanks.

     @goatsarah @anderspuck Thats a choice you can make, but I really don't think making phones user-servicable is going to stop people from dropping phones on their face and cracking the screen.

     Prior to the smart phone revolution (which, as much as I despise Apple, they do deserve the credit for it), phones were not waterproof were user servicable, and could otherwise take a beating. It was done before, It could be done again.

     @goatsarah @da_667 I do have a 2017 iPad that I may have to replace because the battery is old. But in general it’s also not an issue for me.
     And thinking of it, if I had the choice between upgrading the iPad or purchasing a new battery, I’d probably buy a new iPad anyways.
