     @deprecated_ii "everyone driving an EV" is literally impossible without major infrastructure upgrades and building dozens of nuclear power plants.
     The average American drives 15k mi/yr
     If we take the average EV uses 35kWh/100mi that's
     5,250kWh/car/yr
     There are 290,000,000 cars on the road in the US
     Rounding down that's 1.5×10¹⁵ Wh or 1,523TWh
     Right now transportation consumes 7.66TWh
     So we've gotta figure-out how to generate at least 1,515TWh more electricity per year or an additional 36% of the entire electric generation in this country

     @elftummy @deprecated_ii “Everyone driving an EV is impossible”. The destruction of personal transportation is the entire point of the current EV push. Hobbled slaves can’t leave the plantation.

     and you can expect the cost of electricity to go up significantly if everybody drives an EV
