The average American drives 15k mi/yr
If we take the average EV uses 35kWh/100mi that's
5,250kWh/car/yr
There are 290,000,000 cars on the road in the US
Rounding down that's 1.5×10¹⁵ Wh or 1,523TWh
Right now transportation consumes 7.66TWh
So we've gotta figure-out how to generate at least 1,515TWh more electricity per year or an additional 36% of the entire electric generation in this country

@elftummy @deprecated_ii “Everyone driving an EV is impossible”. The destruction of personal transportation is the entire point of the current EV push. Hobbled slaves can’t leave the plantation.
