So much Canada in my life today. Watched the Formula 1 race in Montreal and now this US vs. Canada soccer game.
Canada is very uncool.

@Piss_Ant Well y'all still might win this soccer game since the US team has some primary people out on red cards due to the above average animosity that unfolded in the US vs. Mexico game a few days ago lol. These men be so emotional.

@ninapaley @GalacticTurtle Hey Nina, we just discovered how to burn trees for energy. Support our developing society and breath the smoke

@GalacticTurtle @ninapaley Oh dnt worry, whatever we do, US got our balls in a vice grip, we've promised you unlimited access to our freshwater. Get ready for the water wars in a few decades/centuries

@Piss_Ant @ninapaley I can't wait for the US to become the industrial wasteland of Canada.

@Piss_Ant @ninapaley I figure the breaking point will be when Trump becomes president again, goes to Canada, and misgenders a politician's non-binary daughter.

@GalacticTurtle @ninapaley Canadians will be so surprised when the child survived the vicious attack, it will shake our entire understanding of the world and eventually usher in the revolution

@Fullycaffeinated @Piss_Ant @ninapaley I've been there! To Montreal at least. Done concerts there twice. Canada remains uncool but Montreal was less uncool than Ontario where I've explored quite a bit. If only they had the ONRoute rest stops.

@Piss_Ant @ninapaley I'll enlist in the misgendering infantry. I'll shout vile pronouns. And maybe some vile adjectives and adverbs too. Remind me to bring a bucket to bring some Canadian water back with me.

@GalacticTurtle @Piss_Ant @ninapaley Come to Québec, I'll teach you how to do it in both official languages. It'll be fun.
Then we can swing by Canadian Tire and get you one of these bad boys:
Much better than a bucket.

@Fullycaffeinated @Piss_Ant @ninapaley My memory was right then! I was also impressed by the architecture whereas places like Vancouver, Toronto, and I think even Montreal all have these hideous identical modern high rises that are all made of glass. Though I think the most aesthetically tragic place was Oshawa.

@GalacticTurtle @Piss_Ant @ninapaley Montreal also has a lot of old architecture, but a lot of it has been torn down and replaced. And certainly newer buildings have often been huge modern monstrosities. Old Montreal is beautiful as are some other parts that haven't been touched as much. Québec City (the old part) is spectacular. If you're a fan of old buildings, try and get out there some time.
I've never been to Oshawa so I will refrain from comment. Toronto and Vancouver are not as old and didn't have the influence (or at least not as much) of French architecture, not having been originally built up by the French (well, after they just hauled up here and declared it theirs).

@GalacticTurtle @Piss_Ant @ninapaley Oh, Ontario is fucking boring. They roll up the sidewalks at 9:30 and everyone just goes home.

@Fullycaffeinated @Piss_Ant @ninapaley The only place that wasn't a complete bore was Kingston. There seemed to be some type of military base right in the center of town and I contemplated sneaking in and causing an international incident.

@GalacticTurtle @Piss_Ant @ninapaley Kingston is an interesting place. There is the military base, the Royal Military College, and Queen's University. And it's pretty old by North American standards so there is an interesting mix of architecture. It's on Lake Ontario so there are some nice (and some not so nice) beaches. You can find something to entertain just about anyone there.

@Fullycaffeinated @GalacticTurtle @ninapaley Vancouver doesn't have much nice old architecture imo, just a few buildings. Victoria is much, much more interesting! I love all the churches in Victoria, they are spectacular

@Piss_Ant @GalacticTurtle @ninapaley Yeah, I like Victoria more than Vancouver too, though it has been a few decades since I've been there.
