     The SiFive Unmatched showed good promise. It reached EOL but Beagleboard has a RISC-V option coming out at some point as does Pine64. So overall things are heading in a good direction i'd say.

     @meeee@social.linux.pizza @antichrist_hater@shitposter.club Microcode I'm not sure, but if I'm not mistaken you can install at least Fedora or Debian, DE and all.
     
     Yes they'll do for daily activities that don't involve Steam or Windows apps and it won't work as a native/hardware-accelerated x86 VM.
     
     I'm not sure but I don't think all programming languages have been ported. Certainly enough was ported to run GNOME, though.
     
     Look up some more info, I don't want to give you false hope. But yes, it's meant to be used as PC for working on porting apps to the architecture, and I guess for enthusiasts too if your apps run.
     
     For a potential end-user these boards are overkill, by the way. The first one had 8GB RAM and the second one had 16GB RAM.

     @antichrist_hater@shitposter.club @meeee@social.linux.pizza Wait 'till SiFive puts out a third PC board model (second ran out of stock and they decided to focus on the third one instead or restocking the second one). They run Linux and you can plug a GPU in and put the board on a case.
