@steven @apophis the ultimate irony would be if a strain of COVID emerged for which existing vaccines were effective in mitigating spread and symptoms, but it was much more deadly. I mean, it would be awful, objectively - but, it would also be awfully funny.
@apophis The most frustrating thing about this is the most vulnerable people will always lose.
I wish there was better spite.
@apophis Sounds like a way to kill a lot of the abused children of antivax parents.
@steven @apophis germ theory denial was among the most shocking things I've witnessed in my life, and I've witnessed some objectively super fucked up things
@fcktheworld587 @apophis Nursing home HIV outbreak among conservatives so pilled they no longer believe the germ theory of disease?
@ledocool431 @apophis @steven homie, did you only pick like 2 words out of everything I just said?
@ledocool431 @apophis @steven it's not super deadly, but due to the fact that it has reasonable potential to be deadly; and spreads quickly, partially due to the high rate of asymptomatic patients who can still transmit the virus; the combination thereof will likely lead to an overwhelming of existing healthcare infrastructure, and that will result in increased mortality.
That was the story I was hearing, since the beginning of the whole thing
@ledocool431 @apophis @steven if that's what you were hearing, we were definitely getting different versions of the news
