I have two thunderbolt laptops on a Lenovo docking station. to switch, I have to plug the thunderbolt cable in the respective device.
is there a mechanical switch I could buy, so I don't have to re-plug?-

@special-boy yeah, maybe? I saw that there are docking stations that can act as a KVM themselves, but I have this Lenovo one already. -

@kaia If you don't mind spending 100~200$ on it, there are switches (kvm-like) for Thunderbolt readily available.
