So, I quit my job yesterday. I have done that 3 times in the last 6 months. The first two, they gave me a raise and promised they would change things. This time, I left before they had a chance. I'm out. I am unemployed again.
I can't even count how many times since Covid came I've quit, refused to comply, been broke (even homeless), but.. FUCK THE SYSTEM. I am NOT going to play their games anymore.
I had a full on Jerry McGuire moment Thursday morning, sadly, the assistant I wanted didn't walk out with me... but she's been texting nonstop, and... After she saw clients drop like flys and ask how to get a hold of me.. I think I may have an assistant, clients, and be able to say FUCK YOU to the system COMPLETELY if things go right in a few months.
Meanwhile, I'll be living in a van down by the river.

I quit my job a few months ago and have never been happier.
I work for myself. I don't make a grand living, but I pay my bills and have 100% control.

I've done both. I actually used to be a licensed building contractor, but honestly, I went nuts and sold around 900K worth of work in a year and fell flat on my face because it turns out doing 200K projects is a lot harder than anyone tells you.
Now, I just work with 15 or so management companies and paint units when people move out. Ironically, I take home more than when I had 15 employees.

Because, I always wanted to be a rich and fancy business owner and chased that dream for a long time.
I got it though, but it was too much and I couldn't handle the responsibility.
I wanted to be the instagram entreprenuer. I listened to all the motivational speakers, ect for many years.

It’s still good that you own your own business, there’s nothing wrong with that.

yah, you learn pretty quickly, that chasing money isn't actually important.
It sounds fun to make a lot of money but once you actually get like 100K in a month it's goddamn terrifying lol.
Also profit > than revenue numbers so a lot of hard lessons learned.
