We look forward to connecting with our members already in the fediverse and with organizers of all stripes in all parts of the world.
@cheyenna Thanks 👍️ I guess I'm exploring whether projects as identities here in social.coop might help the universe of our orgs become more visible and transparent. I hadn't discovered SEP&P and its website till specifically mentioned here, even tho I knew of SolidarityNYC and yr own profile.
If there's reasons why Mastodon accounts for projects might not be a good idea - do say? 😊
Hey, so the Solidarity Economy Principles and Practices collective doesn't manage any social media accounts on behalf of that work. To get involved in that folks join the community of practice. Website is undergoing some cleaning but that's all still available at solidarityeconomyprinciples.org.
Hi Mike. For us it's capacity to manage social accounts that require tending daily, on minimum. The SEPP project does not have staff. SolidarityNYC actually gave up tending our social media accounts years ago for this reason, so that we could focus instead on other work. I think it's a decision all volunteer groups must make about comms priorities/capacities given limited time.
@mike_hales It's not about whether there is reason to be on social media as a project. There's lots of good reasons. SEPP might eventually end up on social! If so, wonderful! Until then, I'll post things about it and welcome others in the community of practice to do so too.
