   Was looking into Modula-3 and Oberon because of an Ada thread. Apparently Modula-2 is in use in places and GCC v13 included it.

   GCC v13 was also rumored to be including Rust, but that compiler doesn't do Hello World yet, so it didn't make it.

   GCC v12 added Go support.

     @mdhughes Yeah, it's just a month old yet.

     What would you use Modula-2 for? Curiosity, or do you have tasks you think it would be especially suited for?

     @clacke I did just download GNAT because of some #Ada threads. I have never used #Oberon, #Modula-2,#Modula-3 ( or even #Modula-1 ), but I did use #Pascal in the late 1990s.

     @clacke I also saw people talking about the main #Rust group threatening trademark complaints against gcc-rust. I did not follow any links to learn more.

     @clacke I used to code all sorts of stuff in Pascal. I have a bunch of utilities I've done in it, and some text games. I bet I could get them all ported to Mod-2 and made more portable.

     @lnxw48a1 Pascal was my second language after Basic. I got a book from the library and did some paper programming. Later in high school the programming class was in Pascal.

     The Data Structures and Algorithms course at uni used ADA.
