Magical Grrrl Betty's backMy QPP Luke and I (both trans, disabled and autistic abuse survivors) need help finding a new place to stay here in Washington ASAP. We're both REALLY suspicious of the intent of the host that invited us here.
We were about to be homeless in South Dakota when Chris, a CisHet woman with 2 non-binary children (17 and 22) living just outside of Olympia in Lacey offered us a room to stay in and help with getting set up in the state.
So without any other options we take her up on the offer. Nothing seems off until we get here.
We get here and very quickly Luke and I feel like things are off.
- One of the first obvious red flags was that privately Chris kept trying to insinuate things to Luke about my intent with them. Which Luke very much did not appreciate. And immediately was the first whiff of transmisogyny from Chris.
- She also keeps repeatedly asking Luke privately if they actually want to stay with me (against Luke's wishes).
- She straight up dead named me today "by accident", even though the only context of her knowing it was trying to fill out a legal form.
- She also keeps offering to commit fraud for us. Both forging bank documents to show residency and printing forged/fake pay stubs from her company. Luke and I are both SUPER sketched out about this!!! It feels like she's potentially trying to set us up for blackmail or something else down the line.
Needless to say, we want to get the hell out of here ASAP, but don't know what to do. I genuinely don't feel safe staying here right now, but we don't have any other serious connections in the area.
Does anybody have any advice or suggestions for us?
