this is why Twitter is so bad:
throw a short opinion and see what happens, get reactions....
no, I don't say I disagree or agree with him but I am just giving an example. I open twitter and first thing I see on the timeline is a blunt bare take on something.

SuperDicq (superdicq@minidisc.tokyo)'s status on Thursday, 08-Sep-2022 21:33:58 JST SuperDicq @vib@snug.moe I totally agree the timeline should be chronological on all platforms. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. all had chronological timelines initially which slowly disappeared once they started developing algorithms.
Youtube is the only big social platform that still has a chronological timeline on the subscriptions page, but I suspect that to disappear any day now as well.
I personally think there should be regulations in place that force social media platforms to display information in a neutral way, and not favor specific posts over others.
I believe this because a lot of normies do not seem to understand that the timeline is personalized. They often assume that what they see on their timeline is objective and not a distorted view of reality based on an engagement algorithm.
At the very least these companies should be forced to disclose how their algorithm works in detail. -

astatine (astatine@bae.st)'s status on Thursday, 08-Sep-2022 21:37:24 JST astatine @SuperDicq @vib I could see the YouTube subscription page going away as well. They seem to be deemphasizing it just about every time they update their page or apps.
Twitter can at least be set back to chronological timeline but it defaults to the algorithmic sorted timeline. When I was still using it every third party app kept the chronological timeline by default at least.
