@vib@snug.moe I totally agree the timeline should be chronological on all platforms. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. all had chronological timelines initially which slowly disappeared once they started developing algorithms.
Youtube is the only big social platform that still has a chronological timeline on the subscriptions page, but I suspect that to disappear any day now as well.
I personally think there should be regulations in place that force social media platforms to display information in a neutral way, and not favor specific posts over others.
I believe this because a lot of normies do not seem to understand that the timeline is personalized. They often assume that what they see on their timeline is objective and not a distorted view of reality based on an engagement algorithm.
At the very least these companies should be forced to disclose how their algorithm works in detail.
