@checkervest I know my kids will not grow to have fine penmanship, as much of their writing is with technology now. I, myself, am losing my typing skills. I spend so much time on touch screens that my old norm of about 100 wpm has dropped to well below 50 on the best of days. If you don't use it, you lose it. This makes me wonder what my kid's version of this will be when they are watching a new generation grow up.

The brain is already responsible for 30% of our caloric usage, so it prunes unused connections to free up resources, so to speak. There was a time that was a survival trait. Now, in high-calorie regions of the world, it's not necessary. I expect a future where high calorie intake combined with a mutation creates the first human with a non-pruning brain. IMO, that would be the start of a new species.
Now I'm fascinated! =D
