Just saying the grating cheeses is non existent here and I miss the Tine cream cheeses (spice tastes)since the dairy is so great in Norway. - Fediverse Contractor likes this.

diceynes (diceynes@coolsite.win)'s status on Thursday, 18-May-2023 02:49:20 JST diceynes @thor It's really good for grating dishes. So much grating cheese is low quality here in Spain, impossible to find good grating cheese .it's a good basic cheese. The white cheese is what I'm referring to. -

Thorwegian ❄️ (thor@berserker.town)'s status on Thursday, 18-May-2023 02:49:21 JST Thorwegian ❄️ as far as i know, this Norwegian cheese has no real name.
we call it hvitost or gulost, but that just means "white cheese" and "yellow cheese" respectively.
among international cheeses, it's probably the most similar to gouda. it's not a very exciting cheese. in Norway, this is "normal" or "standard" cheese. cheese without a particular character, you might say.
it's not aged for very long and nothing special is added to it.
i'm just wondering if other countries have this kind of "generic" cheese.
