as far as i know, this Norwegian cheese has no real name.
we call it hvitost or gulost, but that just means "white cheese" and "yellow cheese" respectively.
among international cheeses, it's probably the most similar to gouda. it's not a very exciting cheese. in Norway, this is "normal" or "standard" cheese. cheese without a particular character, you might say.
it's not aged for very long and nothing special is added to it.
i'm just wondering if other countries have this kind of "generic" cheese.
