@fuat2mb
The reason we have a two party system is our voting system. Nothing will change until that changes. So while it's there, our best bet is to hold our nose and vote pragmatically. As for claiming no sufficient difference, that's true if you're a straight white man but if you need an abortion, or gender affirming care, there's at least one big difference between the parties.
@dancinyogi
Like Biden or don't, but he will be the Dem nominee. The alternative is anything the GOP puts out there, likely Trump.
We are a two-party system right now. That's just how it is. Your choice will be Biden v. Trump or someone as bad or worst than him. So, your choice will be Biden or full-on fascism with the possibility of a GOP president actually pulling off a coup next time.
Don't like Biden? Fine. But don't pretend both candidates are equally bad. That's how we got Trump in the first place.
@fuat2mb @dancinyogi I was reading through the responses, looking for those wallowing in that odd disconnected luxury that allows them to assert that Biden and Trump ARE the same, and I wasn't seeing them.
But then I saw this @fuat2mb reply and now I'm "reassured" magaheads aren't the only thing wrong with this country.
"There really is no sufficient policy difference between them"
Only minor things like one of them is committed to democracy and the other led an attempted coup?
@gnu2
I guess if the majority voted you could say that. Even in the case that it were true, it's a grossly over simplified view of the world and no argument for our against democracy.
@fuat2mb One country has invaded another. You think the invader should just be given his prize and invited to continue?
The core advantage of democracy is that you can change rulers. If a ruler does a bad job, they lose majority support and are replaced.
What happens when a tyrant does a bad job? They lock up/murder all critics.
