    For Reddit alternatives on the Fediverse, I prefer #kbin over #Lemmy. Here's why:

    1. Navigation: The top navbar on /kbin seems clear and precise, while Lemmy seems noisy

    2. Posts: There's clear separation in /kbin with boxes, while Lemmy posts are not segmented and therefore bleed into each other.

    3. Discoverability: Even though /kbin is used by drastically fewer people than Lemmy, it seems easier to find people across the Fediverse who discuss topics

      @atomicpoet
      Both do a thing that Mastodon also does, which is to not underline links - it makes them harder to see, degrades user experience for - well, everyone, but especially low vision users & people with certain cognitive/perceptual issues. (E.g. I find it challenging when I have a migraine, which is often, or when my eyesight is glitchy - also often.)

      @rm4 You don't. These are server software, not an alternative web front end for Mastodon.

      @atomicpoet How do you log in / use an existing fediverse account from Mastodon or elsewhere?

      @Sbectol Here's how a Calckey account looks from /kbin:

      @atomicpoet how do /kbin posts look if you follow their accounts from eg *keys? I wonder if replies appear if one can reply to posts from outwith of /kbin

      Edit answered my own question - seems like most of the replies are actually from lemmy instances

      @atomicpoet I know its not an instance or something like Elk. But I see on Kbin for example active users and it shows some people with accounts not from Kbin so i was wondering how they are able to use that mastodon username and be able to comment / post in Kbin

      @atomicpoet @rm4 It's more like a "post group" than a group of users. Where you would "join" and all posts go to the group members and not outside it. So it doesn't seem as community centric.

      @ianp5a @rm4 No, it's not a private groups. However, Friendica does support private groups.

      Calckey supports groups that are localized to a server.

      @rm4 @ianp5a /kbin offers a Reddit-like UI for participating in group discussion.

      @ianp5a @atomicpoet Oh okay hmm. That clears things up a little. How do I join a group or create one and participate in said group? How is Kbin different in terms of groups than https://a.gup.pe/ - that seems more like the post group you speak of.
