@dbc3@StillIRise1963@k5dru@jacobrogers256 I have become extremely wary of utopianism in all its forms. There are utopian versions of almost every belief system, including kind and good ones. The belief that we know with •certainty• how to solve all the world’s problems in some extremely hypothetical alternate reality inevitably becomes an apocalyptic worldview: “our reward awaits us in the next life, so nothing matters now except bringingng the new world.” And any harm becomes justifiable.
Racist yes, but more to the point, it is a law based on mystical, fever dream religious beliefs. All the christofascist support for Israel is NOT sympathy for Israel, it is purely to fulfill the "rapture" nonsense in the last book of the bible, written no doubt by someone with an opium pipe. It's also why they don't care about climate change or pandemic or pretty much anything. Their single purpose is to make the rapture happen & leave.
"Arkansas lawmakers passed a law in 2017 requiring individuals or companies to pledge not to boycott Israel or its settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories if they want to do business with the state. Other states have passed similar pro-Israel/anti-Palestine laws requiring specific conservative/religious proclamations from anyone wanting to score state contracts."
