For what it's worth, people on #Bluesky aren't hostile to #Mastodon.
They want to read Mastodon posts.
It's incredibly sad that people on Bluesky can't talk to Mastodon and vice versa.

@atomicpoet Qu es #Bluesky ?@fediversenews
@John @tchambers Bluesky’s community isn’t about crypto right now.
I'm sure there are a lot of people who want to read my posts on Bluesky, and reply, and sell me crypto.
@John @tchambers The bridge wouldn’t be for Bluesky specifically but the protocol that they use. If admins don’t like Bluesky, the node, they can block it.
@atomicpoet @tchambers Perhaps we should think through the implications of an easy linkage to a low security environment before we get there.
If, all things considered, Bluesky were to have "low" moderation, would an easy linkage mean that someone on Mastodon would have to clean it up, on their side of the fence?
@CarolynStirling
It works well.
If you only allow celebrities, certain classes of journalist, etc. onto the platform as creators and the 'regular people' to consume until you're 'stable enough for capacity testing' you build in a group that has a head start.
Worked for Gmail, Facebook, etc. People enjoy feeling exclusive, look at how quickly they moved away from the checkmark once it was obtainable by 'regular' people.
@mentallyalex @atomicpoet @fediversenews Seems they are picking and choosing who can join. Elitism as a marketing tool?
@atomicpoet poor choice of design, as is being discussed everywhere.
I would imagine that BS is betting on the "twitterati" celebrities and big names from Twitter shifting to BS and causing everyone to flock to his new walled garden.
It's silly because this place already exists. Exclusivity isn't the new hotness.
@atomicpoet A mi no me sirve.
