@thomasfuchs I agree with this 100%.
Also, as someone who works on #Signal all day, some of this criticism isn't constructive and makes me feel bad. I've gotten better about reading that stuff, but when people hate on something you work hard on, it sucks!
@thomasfuchs One thing that happens is that unlike Twitter, new messages do not buffer but just appear, thereby disrupting your reading line until you scroll down to find the post again.
@thomasfuchs whatever happened to constructive criticism?
@thomasfuchs We should never be scared to critique and improve the things we love, it's what separates love from dogma. You're doing good work, and you've opened my eyes to things that can be even better about all this.
@thomasfuchs I find it hard to understand why people get so upset and angry on social media. If someone is being a knob, they get muted and I forget they existed. Perhaps the anger is a feature for some people.
@thomasfuchs I have had a look at this elk Zone. I think it has some promise. The search function does return results after a fashion, rather than having no search at all.
Trolls can get the data anywhere, or … just make some up.
But the need for Search depends on what YOU want from "this place". If it's just somewhere to hang out, free of geography, then why would you ever need search?
So. A question: what is it you want from "this place" that requires a Search tool?
