@thomasfuchs wait hang on, isn't it "public posts from this instance + all people (on any instance) that are followed by someone on this instance", not "all people on federated instances"? Unless my mental model is the one that's wrong

not sure if it applies hashtags to only those federated posts or if it does extra work in those cases
