@thomasfuchs Quote Posts is on their "under consideration” roadmap. A Groups feature is on their near-future roadmap. They are actively listening and prioritizing features!
@thomasfuchs there are lists & groups coming, which I think the latter may allow to restrict audience to a specific group; a "what you missed" cpuld be cool, but would have to work based of basic heuristics, not anything learning what you might've wanted to see. Quote posts are also being explored: https://joinmastodon.org/roadmap
@thomasfuchs I'm not strictly speaking, but I know historically Mastodon's userbase & developers have been against algorithms & especially one's that do any form of user tracking.
Hence, you could do the "top N liked/boosted posts from your followers over the past 24 hours" but not "you interacted with these posts so the algorithm suggests you look at these posts"
Though I think ultimately summary & algorithmic tools could be third-party via the API, instead of built-in
@thomasfuchs the server your on doesn't track which posts you've seen, though, so it can't figure out what you didn't engage with, nor other algorithmic content recommendations.
Either way, I'm doubtful that sort of feature would ever be added — back in the day just adding explore & trending hashtags was a major controversial change.
