Endlessly frustrated by customers who don't understand (and I'm being nice) that if their credit card doesn't work, it's not my fault, it's always their banks' fault.

@TechConnectify @thomasfuchs I made the mistake of putting a car rental deposit on my debit card once. It put a €700 hold on my current (checking) account for a month. Credit card wouldn’t have mattered because it’s a fraction of the total limit and it’s not my money they’re holding. But €700 of my own cash tied up for a month was very annoying.

@thomasfuchs in the hotel world, we ran into this constantly with holds on debit cards. We could change the method of payment in our system, but it was up to the bank how long it would take for the hold to drop off.
Best we could do is call the guest's bank and try to get them to drop it, but that was quite the hassle.
