     @Mrfunkedude Counterpoint: the chocolate chips overpower the banana flavor, so why even bother? Your banana bread that you worked so hard on turns into chocolate chip bread with some bananas thrown in.

     If you're putting chocolate chips in your pumpkin bread too, we might have to take this discussion offline. ?

     Chocolate chips are great and they go in lots of things. But not in banana bread. Not in raisin oatmeal cookies either.

     @Mrfunkedude When it comes to banana bread, I am an omnivore. I will both bake and eat banana bread with any of the following: chocolate chips, chopped candied pecans, chopped dates, macadamia nuts.

     @Mrfunkedude Maybe I'm traumatized b/c my MIL is heavy-handed with chocolate and would put it on pizza if she could get away with it. She doesn't seem to realize that it's ok to have desserts WITHOUT chocolate.

     FWIW, her chocolate chip cookies are generally quite good.
