    Been reading the physical edition of "Mastodon for Dummies" and it's really good! The authors have got into the spirit of Mastodon and the Fediverse, and it comes through in the text's gentle humour.

    Well done to @workingwriter and @chrisminnick for their hard work! ?

    It should be out now in most countries, you can order it from any bookshop with the following info:

    "Mastodon for Dummies"
    by Chris Minnick & Michael McCallister
    ISBN: 978-1-394-19336-3

      @feditips @workingwriter @chrisminnick I am really curious about this book, and hope to find a digital copy or audio book of it some day, would be great.

      @workingwriter @chrisminnick

      p.s. Just to add, there are a few errors in the text, but that's sort of inevitable when you write the first edition of a book. They've packed lots of useful info into a physical form that many people find more user-friendly than a screen, and I think that's the first time it's been done for the Fedi.

      The authors have noted mistakes on the book's website and will have corrections in any future editions.

      Also: I bought the book myself, this wasn't a review copy ?

      p.p.s. You don't have to order books from giant online retailers. Small independent physical bookshops can get pretty much any book you want, and will let you know when it arrives.

      All you have to do is tell the bookshop the name of the book and the author(s), they'll get it from their wholesaler and the profits will be supporting a small indie business instead of a big near-monopoly.

      p.p.p.s As @jan points out, there are also online ordering services which help to support indie shops at https://bookshop.org and https://hive.co.uk

      The indie shops will get more if you order direct from them, but these online options at least give indie shops some support.
