@alex is it possible to prevent my fedi account from bridging to nostr, it's adversely affecting my ability to shit-talk nostr on here

@Moon After the changes I made 2 days ago, it now works like a normal fedi server and fetches public activities. So doesn’t do anything a normal fedi server wouldn’t, and it respects Deletes. So however you would opt-out normally is the same, probably authenticated fetch or IP block.

@mint @alex difference audiences. on nostr i mostly focus on suggesting what they can do to make it better or avoid problems (which i am doing in good faith). nobody there wants to hear my deeper complaints about it but i still want to talk about it.

@Moon @alex Saying what you feel upfront is more noble than talking behind the back.

@mint @Moon This is true, if you just do a followers-only post the bridge will ignore it, since we can’t guarantee that behavior on the Nostr side.

@f7d424b5c1aa547ffcd20435c6b16de9c5ab6977505bb6a64cf870e3618c51e8 @mint @Moon I thought about it. ? Unlisted still contains the public URI in the “cc” field. However nothing on Nostr prevents it from showing up in a global feed over there, so the user expectation is wrong.

However, Unlisted posts are still fetchable. Not fetching them would break threads on the Nostr side (and it would be harder to code). And since it’s a public post not being delivered to followers, the user expectation is still wrong.

(Unlisted was always a dumb idea because it’s a visibility setting for a specific feature (the “public timeline”), and that specific feature isn’t even very good.)

I don’t feel very strongly about it, but open to feedback.

You should make it ignore unlisted ones too imo
