     @mmccue @davidslifka @cwebber oof. I'd start with @Gargron , then everyone on the Social Web Working Group, the spec authors @rhiaro and @tsyesika and @erincandescent , @blaine for web finger, @jasnell and many others for AS, going further back @walkah and @zcopley and @brion for OStatus, @tantek.com for everything. Hundreds of people who made media, made the culture, built software. It's a whole 'verse.

     I actually don't know who did HTTP Signature, but that was a huge step forward. Pump.io had a really complicated system for provisioning server to server OAuth tokens, and HTTP Signature cut out most of that work.

     This is a pretty extensive history, that zooms in on the fediverse´ culture as well and where it comes from. One of the best and only ones that I know of.
