@Mrfunkedude Why ask Y, as long as there's lasagna?
There is lasagna, right? You didn't just make me hungry for nothing, I hope.
@allenstenhaus there is always
@Mrfunkedude
Umm... maybe we shouldn't judge Italian spelling, at least not if we're using English for it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghoti ??
@tynstar fair point.
@Mrfunkedude There is no why. That's why the g is there!
@Mrfunkedude The "what" is apparent, and the "how" is obvious. But we'll never know the "why".
@Mrfunkedude Yeah, not sure why I posted that.
Pun...not intended in this case, but worded that way for clarity. And brevity but this note at the end of the toot sort of invalidates that. Why do I keep typing. It's not helping. Gahhh
@Mrfunkedude Becuase they don't need it. It's as if it were spelled: Lasaña
I mean, you might as well argue mañana needs a y in it. Except ñ like gn in Italian, sounds like ny in English. So, you could spell Enya - in Italian might be Egna, and in Spanish Eña. And they would all be pronounced the same.
@ariaflame @Mrfunkedude and then there's g vs gg, but neither of these has much to do with gn.
@annaraven @ariaflame STOP CORRECTING MY OBVIOSULY WRONG BUT FUNNY TOOT YOU MEANIES!!!
?
@annaraven @Mrfunkedude Though you do have to be careful because some consonants have different pronunciations next to broad (a,o,u) and slender vowels (i,e). In Italian for example ci is pronounced chi, chi is pronounced ki and cabina is a hard c and would be pronounced kabina
@annaraven @ariaflame Why do you have to tease me so?
@Mrfunkedude @ariaflame Here you go Dude - a plate of lasagne just for you. With homemade noodles and everything.
@annaraven on my way over.
@Mrfunkedude I never tease.
@Mrfunkedude Just let me know when.
You don't mind a messy house right? The kitchen is clean but the rest... Just close your eyes. or well, don't close your eyes cuz you might trip on a dog. or a cat. or a box. or books. or ...
@annaraven Mom???
