     @DataDrivenMD @wjmaggos The behaviour is intentional, though I don't feel very strongly in favour of it. The argument for it is that people want to judge content on its own merit and not based on its perceived popularity.

     @Gargron @wjmaggos It's just a minor bug in the obfuscateCounter logic. The underlying counts are accurate, but the way they're reported makes it seem like there's less engagement because the front-end defaults to obfuscating the counts. I honestly thought it was an intentional decision to default to obfuscated counts until I saw someone complain about engagement earlier. It's a quick fix, I'll submit a PR after a I grab a bite to eat.
