     Proprietary sw is often found to be malware, there are thousands of examples of that[1]. Even if we assume that this particular sw remains true to its claims, it enforces a power structure where proprietor/developers exercises control on the users through their software, which is unacceptable in a free world.

     I see no diff between proprietary sw developed by Indie devs or mega corps so I take swipe at both.

     Unless the software is free/libre software, we can't really trust the claims of their developers.
