@jsstaedtler Adding to what @GalmeshRosewood said, NextCloud offers the sort of private cloud storage you may be looking for. It requires some system administration skills to install on a remote server you rent. -

@jsstaedtler You can get a NAS, like one from Synology or QNAP. They both have options to have internet access. I use them to have a folder that I can access from any device on my LAN. Opening to the internet has associated risks of being open to the internet, so be careful and be extra secure.

I need people's recommendations and expertise on something I'm certain exists but seems overwhelming to learn about from scratch:
I want what I think is called a "private cloud." It would be like Google Drive, where I can store any kind of files, and access them anywhere (with decent authentication). Video streaming would ideal.
I currently run a Windows server at home, and I can do a lot on my local LAN from various devices, but is there a recommended product to make it Internet-accessible?
