     We can detect with node info. But, currently we only do that manually because some forks use different names or don't specify their API.
     But at least, we will bring soon an auto detection (we are generally speaking about custom features depending of the software not expecially pixelfed).

     Is the fact the server is PixelFed something you attempt to detect or is it always necessary to manually flick the switch?

     Well, manual sort would be preferred, but yes like the manages timelines!
