For the first time ever, young women are less interested in religion than young men.
Is this a trend that will continue? Given that it's men who run most religious organizations, this was perhaps something inevitable. Free link to this NYT piece: https://dnyuz.com/2024/09/23/in-a-first-young-men-are-more-religious-than-young-women/
That article on nurturance culture is really thought-provoking, and I copied it to share on Facebook, but then I got this sense of deja vu, checked the date, and true enough it's from 2016. Pretty sure I shared it back then, thinking "I can't wait for all the guys on my friends list to read this and have deep conversations about it" and... tumbleweeds.
Kinda sick of articles on cis men's emotional health being written by, shared by, read by, discussed by, cis women and trans men and trans women and enbies and basically anyone except cis men.
Is it just me? Am I being terribly cynical here or what?
@GalacticTurtle Wow, there’s a lot here, but what I had no idea about was this:
Amongst black women you’ve got some who make their whole personality about partnering with white men who they view will see them as human and treat them better than black men.
Is this because white men are sometimes less macho (maybe – that stereotypical, “progressive” type of white man, anyway)?
I wish your white friend the best with her “queer men and non-men.” 😅 I don’t know if these “non-men” are women, but it kind of sounds like she’s sick of men and doesn’t want to give up hope that there’s a different type out there.
