I remember the first reports. No one actually saw or heard any plains until the news.
It was fckd up from the begining to the end. And just like always, everything was a mess.
1 No one was able to overpower men armed with "box cutters"
2 Air force was grounded
3 Not a single piece of an airplane to be found on either of the 4 crash sites
4 only trace of planes involvement were passports. While steal and concrete were melting
5 fire fighters told about bombs in basement.
If, as the experts say, Pennsylvania is the most important state for either side to win in the national election, due to its 19 electoral votes, then having both Philadelphia and Pittsburgh in the top markets for Biden's speech is VERY good news.
It suggests that a lot of Pennsylvanians are chomping at the bit to be active in this election.
@Streakmachine That actually started when Google Reader shut down, it changed into people relying on RSS to switching to social media such as the now dead birdsite and Meta/FB to get their news.
It was obviously detrimental in retrospect.
@evan Qualified No. News is entertainment. The purpose for following the News is to keep up with watercooler talk.
It is good if the voting populace stays educated on what's going on in the country, what decisions are going to be made and why. Most of what is called News does not cover that.
Citizens have so much going on and they all cope in their ways. It is not fair to say the burden is on each of them to read and analyze multiple sources, sift through the noise, follow the trails that lead back from there. Because that is the way to meaningfully follow the news.
It's a hobby, a special interest, to know what's going on. Preferably everyone would at least have a friend like that, but in reality not everyone will. Second best is that activist organizations make themselves heard when something is seriously going wrong.
Thank you for your thoughst, @Porpentina2017 :)
I don't know the details.
However, I can tell you, overall, giving the right-wing a platform is what has proven a general success for them.
So many crazy ideas have become main stream, even prime-time news.
#TFG has a big part in this, but not exclusively.
You can see the same thing happening in other countries. Presently. E. g. in Germany. Things that were unspeakable only last year, are now national or regional news.
It simply doesn't ...
It's okay if you don't have the headspace to be outraged about the same things on repeat or, worse yet, another new thing.
It's okay if you don't stay up with the news.
It's okay if you only post or view landscapes and animal pics and faces in things.
It's okay to make space for yourself.
It's okay to take care of you. Whatever that looks like.
