   Just for context I should point out this has directly impacted me and my Fiancee, who is currently int he process of getting a marriage visa to be with me here. Now, scared for her safety I am forced to either break off the engagement (not going to happen) or flee the country as a refugee to be with her in Thailand where it will be safe for both of us.

   So this isnt just some hypothetical, I have already been the victim of this very issue.

   Today we were walking the dog and an old lady stops her car right in the middle of the street, rolls down her window, and starts waving at us.
