@nedwharton though, on the other hand, if you go to mastodon.social and try to look at their federated timeline, you just can't.
It's literally so fast, it's unreadable.
Keep in mind that I didn't mention boosts or replies to those who are federated.
Boosts and replies, if they aren't federated by following, are federated on a "per post" basis.
So if someone boosts 1 post, it doesn't mean you'll see all posts from that user, but at the very least, you'll know the user exists so you can follow if you choose.
Things are very nuanced here and there's some fine lines of what's useable and what isnt, in terms of a federated timeline.
This place is still fairly new. I think we'll get there, in time.
Folks, he was up by fucking NINE at this point last time. NINE.
Do you think I LIKED Joe Biden in 2020? I did not. Let's be clear. I didn't.
It has no bearing on the numbers. He was up by fucking NINE last time at this point. His approval rating is 37.9% - I'll GIVE you 38, it's still shit. He's losing all six swing states you need while OTHER LOCAL DEMS there are polling ahead. 65% of polled DEM voters want him to drop out.
You sound like J Edgar Hoover. Worse, you sound like Trump voters.
@1ksrw ah I see. Have never really paid attention to baraag because some of the content there is illegal to view where I live, and I don't want to see it accidentally. 😅
I know a lot of NSFW posters went to aethy as part of the twitter exodus. Blorbo still federates with aethy but lots of other instances don't.
It's kinda weird being an instance where we love & encourage NSFW content, but our rules are too restrictive for some NSFW posters, and too lax for those who don't like NSFW at all.
This is the message:
A baby born this year can do as well as their parents if we cut carbon emissions.
Or they can lose up to a million bucks in their lifetime if we don't.
It's OUR choice
(and the choice is stark)

Brother, they won't.
It's our job to tell them.
I looked at the #rust based, #Cosmic #desktop #environment, by #System76. This is branded "alpha" right now, but I'm flabbergasted by the users online, who think that "by summer" that thing will be ready for general use.
News flash, it won't.
It generally takes 2-3 years minimum after the official release for a brand new DE (with a brand new #API & libs) to become truly useful to most people. DEs aren't adopted unless matured. Hamper your expectations, lads.
