Day 5 of posting about the coup on Linkedin. I can't begin to count the number of people in infosec LI who messaged privately to say keep going, nobody's talking about this here, this is important, etc. That's been nice.
But then also a lot of times when I check these peoples' timelines on LI it's like <crickets>. So that makes me a little sad. But then I think, self, you're in a much better position to piss off infosec LI than most, and that's to be expected. And that's a good thing.
Also, there are SO many people in or on the fringe of the infosec industry that have such horrible takes on why it is okay to break the law, flout the courts, the Constitution and Congress in the name of fighting "government fraud." As if that's not just a replacement for "election fraud," which likewise hasn't materialized. Anyway, I guess they're all on record as cheering the nazi parade, so there's that.
I'm generally not engaging in conversations with these cult followers, because never argue with an idiot, right? But I also don't want the same drones cluttering up my timeline with inanities and whataboutism. So my strong inclination is to block useful idiots, but then I think well why am I even here if I'm doing that? I did block some people though and it felt good.
As you can see, I am somewhat conflicted about this project.
#PennedPossibilities What genre(s) do you like to read and / or write the most?
People don't believe me when I say this, but I like anything that's actually good. Literature, sf/f, mystery/crime, horror, experimental, magical realism, westerns, historical fiction... I really just want it to be good.
As for writing, so far I've written four different genres across four projects, so it's a bit hard to say. But I think I had the most fun writing my light/comic sf novel, so maybe that counts?
btw electric cars are really great
I didn't enjoy driving before, but now I fell in love with this electric vehicle. I've only considered cars as a way to get around, yet now I enjoy it, and I want to... just drive. The acceleration dynamic, the smoothness, the recuperation, it feels good.
As a sanity check, I tried out the internal combustion car again. I hated it instantly.
@inoru_no_hoshi I told the piercer, it was fine. I thought it probably would be, but there was a little bit of me that worried.
Omg it's so good.
As soon as the first one was done, it felt like an important missing part of me was restored.
It didn't really hurt this time?? It just felt like pressure with a tiny moment of pain.
Right now I am full of wonderful natural chemicals (endorphins?)
I'm booking the next piercing (vch) for the week after payday next month 🥳
@Mastodon it was obvious that Threads will be a data kraken but I still enjoy that they are pushing the fediverse with their inclusion of pubsub.
I gave Threads a shot this morning and I must say for now the community is pretty nice and the overall simplicity of the app feels good.
As soon as Pubsub is integrated I'll make the switch completely to mastodon and follow people on Threads.
