   Getting my nipnop piercings re-done tomorrow.

   Simultaneously terrified & excited.

   Last time, there were some brief but intense painful moments. I was surprised by how much I liked that.

   I thought I was getting them done for aesthetic reasons but it turned out that I liked them a lot for other reasons too.

   Wanted to get more piercings done, but life got in the way.

   I had to take my barbells out for an x-ray, & left it too long before attempting to put them back in.

     Booked to get them redone last year, but then mum got covid (I was living with her at the time) & so I cancelled my appointment.

     That was *a year ago*.

     Ever since then, I've been so focused on the goal of buying an apartment that I've cut out most of my other discretionary spending.

     Possibly I'm not financially stable enough yet to spend money on non-essential things.

     But this feels weirdly essential, like something important to me is missing.

     I'm slightly worried in a way that I wasn't previously, about how I might respond to the pain.

     The place I'm going to is an extremely kink-friendly place run by a Leather Master & her boy. I know that they're familiar with people having non-standard responses to pain.

     Still, I kinda feel like I ought to fess up about how it felt last time, rather than just assume they'll be cool with whatever.

     About to leave for appointment, not freaking out or feeling stupid nervous, nope nope nope, it's all good, it will be fine.

     Still have no idea whether it's a good idea to tell the piercer about the unexpected response I had last time.

     Leaning towards not saying anything & just going with plausible deniability.

     Anyway I might hate it this time, it might be all pain no pleasure, and I'll have subjected the piercer to an awkward conversation for no good reason.

     @lookitmychicken it's probably polite to give a heads up, just like I give a heads up about Tourette's, just so they can do their job better. :3 besides, they may be used to it but it's still nice to let them consent to that if it happens and all.

     @inoru_no_hoshi I told the piercer, it was fine. I thought it probably would be, but there was a little bit of me that worried.

     Omg it's so good.

     As soon as the first one was done, it felt like an important missing part of me was restored.

     It didn't really hurt this time?? It just felt like pressure with a tiny moment of pain.

     Right now I am full of wonderful natural chemicals (endorphins?)

     I'm booking the next piercing (vch) for the week after payday next month 🥳
