   As mentioned in this post, converting to renewable power is really a communal decision, and governments like them or not are how our societies make communal decisions. Ideally, the conversion would go: people pressure -> governments decide -> command-and-control replacement.

   That didn't happen because our governments are in fact not responsive to people pressure. By now it's clear that this will never happen.

   So what are the alternate paths?

   Before you start with “WeLL cHaNgE tHe LaW”, we both know there’s no civil law that will stop this. You know better than most that even if a unicorn jury levied the amount of fine that would actually hurt, if it made it out of the courtroom, it would be reduced to a pittance and MAYBE an apology on appeal.

   This is unarguable. We’ve seen it happen.

   So when, exactly, do CEO’s of companies who make decisions that provably kill people face any form of legal penalty?

   Nah... She just called him ugle as fuck in the clearest terms, and also implied, that cheating is going to happen.

   So, yeah. I didn't expect her to have male defenders in here :D

   And when she tried to join the Fediverse, she was greeted with a barrage of hate, sexism, racism, and anti-semitism that should have never been allowed to happen.

   So now no one on Fediverse gets to interact with her directly about her work on here. Our loss. 😢

   Which is why we'll make it so that this type of terrible welcome is unlikely to happen again. Allowing it to happen to her was a choice. We will make better ones.

   Absolutely. I am not under any illusion that people will jump on a standalone piece of software just because of the morals it supports.

   But a free, decentralized, anti capitalist software movement requires a lot of effort and moving pieces. And if we don't put in the work, then it will definitely not happen.

   So i want to try, even if the odds are massively against me. At least i am having fun while doing it 🙂
