I use filters to keep my feed how I want it. That might mean not reading too much about a subject that damages my mental health. Or it might just be a subject that some people I follow are really into, but I'm not interested.

What you filter, what hashtags you follow, what people you follow, who you mute and block, this is your business alone. Nobody else ever needs to know, nobody is entitled to know, and you should never feel pressured on any of this.

#today I confirmed that, all being well, I should start volunteering with the Woodland Trust at the beginning of March.

Also, I've been waiting a long time (since 2021 - they screwed up with the waiting list last year) for some surgery, and I rang to see what was happening today. Eventually, after being sent around different departments, I unexpectedly got an pre-operation appointment for this coming Friday. Progress, suddenly!

And then I went for a walk to a nearby medieval deer park (which is part of the woods where I'll be volunteering).

#today I've been listening to the new Young Fathers album, Heavy Heavy.

I loved the first Young Fathers record, way back when, but their subsequent material hasn't really floated my boat. So I'm very glad to say that Heavy Heavy is as good as anything they've released, full of exuberance and energy and general oomph.

@Mrfunkedude Take me to the Côte d'Azur. It is where I am always happiest. And not too warm at this time of year.

#today I went for a walk in the woods. It is too warm and too dry at the moment, which is a worry, it shouldn't feel like April or May in February. But it also makes for a nice day, which I feel guilty for enjoying.

#today I'm listening to Sharon Jones, who was a giant of the classic funk and soul revival (and taken from us far too soon).

I really need to find more modern funk and soul artists with an old sound, but never know where to look, because my funk and soul tastes are really picky and if it doesn't sound like it could've been recorded no later than 1972, I'm not interested.

(All my music tastes are like this. I enjoy music in many different niches, but they are invariably small niches.)
