@Nonilex I live in New Zealand, where our intensive agriculture industry makes the argument about "racing to feed the world". Sadly, this is not the case. Our industry is racing to supply meat and dairy products to large corporate food processors and supermarkets at the best price, who are actually only feeding the proportion of the world that can afford their products. The people who need them most never get to taste our produce.
No wonder we have wars, revolutions and terrorism when 1.1% of the global population holds 45.8% of global wealth and 55% of humanity are expected to get by on 1.3%. What are we doing about this inequity, really? What do we expect when we share the planet's bounty so inequitably? We will never have a peaceful world unless we deal with the root cause. Data refers to 2021; the disparity has only grown since then. #equality#equity#climatecrisis#peace https://www.visualcapitalist.com/distribution-of-global-wealth-chart/
@AlliFlowers@jeffowski Can you provide links to evidence for this please? And also, do you know how the defunding nations are now getting the necessary aid provided to Gaza? What alternatives have they put in place?
I do not understand why nations are defunding UNRWA because 0.09% of their employees may have been engaged in criminal activity? And what mechanism have those nations put in place to help the civilian citizens of #gaza survive through the crisis they are in? #nzpol
