Well...just watched a live stream of Tim Walz doing a speech in my hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan...what a stemwinder of a speech...I couldn't figure out the venue until he mentioned the people standing under the whale and then I knew it was the museum on the banks of the Grand River...and that whale skeleton has been in the museum since I was a kid...every time I hear Tim speak he reminds me of the best teachers I had growing up who helped me form who I am...good evening!

Well..I wonder what would happen if I took the weekend off? I know the guilt would be pretty severe but I miss the feeling of freedom that it used to give me to not have to do anything....discipline is a trap sometimes...

Well...darn forgot to charge the earbuds last night so I won't be able to get back on the bike for a half hour or so...but I'll still get both rides in before noon...still haven't seen the baby squirrels after the first time but I'm going to put some bread out anyway before I get on the bike again...I do need to clean a bit today but that won't be til after lunch...F1 has started up again and practice is on...and Mercedes still hasn't figured out their car for the second year in a row..

Well...sitting here with my last cup of coffee with the sun just pouring in the kitchen windows and lighting this place up for the first time in weeks...already have the squirrel bread out but haven't seen any of them yet...Chelsea is playing Spurs and it's 0-0 almost at the end of the first half....and I am relishing having nothing to do today...the bathroom really needs cleaning but I'm still debating whether to do it or not...so much dust in this place and I'm not sure where it's from

Well...it's small bird day on the feeder today with just Juncos, Nuthatches, and Chickadees so far...the monster Doves haven't come back...so far, so it's been a quiet day...I do have two sets of Cardinals hit the feeder every day but I haven't seen the Bluejays lately...I have one Junco that has been sitting in the feeder for 10 minutes now....I think he's taking advantage of the lack of big birds today....

Well...up at 6:21 and it's taken an hour to get to my second cup of coffee today...just can't get started and that means I don't think I'll get to the first ride until after the grocery run this morning...they've added freezing rain to the forecast of big snow over the next few days so it will be hibernation until the weekend for me...I am curious what painkillers they have prescribed for the dental work Monday...sure hope they've given me something strong...not a big fan of being in pain

Well...such a lazy day today...it's after one and I haven't even gotten in the shower yet...I did talk to my daughter today and she set up the transport to my periodontist appointments that start next week...and she did it all from Maryland where she lives...she's a planner....and it was nice to talk to her today...I do need to get what little I have to do today done by 2:30 when the Daytona 500 comes on...and since the shower is the only thing, I think I can do it...

Well...it's 9:30 and I'm a couple of cocktails in and running out of steam...damn it sucks to get old...no, that's not true...I embrace getting old and the freedom that comes with it...have lived a long life and have learned a few things...just frickin be nice to people....they are working their butts off to live their lives and we shouldn't make it harder for us or them....help people when you can but please take care of yourself...we are in this together...

Well..a little fun fact popped into my head listening to music on the bike this morning...in the song "The Bomber" by the James Gang, the original version had a short version of "Bolero" by Ravel in it but the copyright holders sued Warner Bros records for royalties so Warner removed it and remastered the song...the strange thing is I have both versions....

Well...I think I've decided to take a day off today....my legs hurt from riding yesterday and I just want to sit here and listen to the rain...just cleaned the microwave and cleaned most of everything else yesterday so now I just need to find an old movie to watch and I'll settle in for the day....

@Mrfunkedude I was surprised at how few people browse the federated...it's such a good way to see people from across the fediverse and it never fails to surprise me...see it both on my laptop and tablet since I access with browsers...

Well...I just noticed that I haven't had a cold since covid arrived....I guess wearing a mask when you're around people does work..

Well...I think it's time to make some changes here...my home timeline has become a quagmire of shouty politics and that is not what I came here for...so, I'm going to start un-following some people here so I can get the feeling of friendliness that I've lost back again....everything doesn't have to be about politics...that's why I left the bird site and sure didn't want to recreate that here...so, please don't be offended if I unfollow you...I need a happy place that is easy...
