Not surprising, but disappointing nonetheless. To be fair, I think the main issue is the difficulty and cost of fighting disinformation at scale¹. I think it is also outlines an argument against hyperscale, centralized social networks, and for locally-moderated federated social networks.

Still a difficult problem, but centralization seems to be a blocker for achieving usable moderation and fact-checking.
