Those images are of a friend’s work who is teaching me.
It’s a ridiculously strong material because the used skateboards are even denser than the new ones. Somethin about maple having pores(?) that give the nose and tail all that pop but then you eventually lose the pop as the pores get compressed.
These decks are in pretty good condition still. Glue-ups with more damaged decks can be more challenging because there are more gaps and flaws. Wood glue and epoxy help.

Grip removed, paint sanded off, glued up in a bottle jack press, cross cut into slabs, planed 1/4 inch thick to be cut in the laser cutter. Maybe someday I’ll buy a CNC as well.
There are many potential applications. It’s one of my favorite recycled materials with which to work.

I heard that an IQ of 145+ is required to be able to be able to ask the question of whether or not IQ is an overly-simplistic metric and whether or not it actually supports a model that can make predictions about individuals or populations.
