@walruslifestyle - i'm over 40 years old, took honors US history in high school, at least two full semesters of US history in college, constitutional law I and II in law school, and I even listen to history podcasts in my free time... That a 5-minute NPR story has shaken the foundations of my understanding for this topic is mind-blowing.
