@BeAware I don't remember any queues in previous season launches so it lessened significantly after those first issues.

Diablo IV updating, but I am not certain I will actually get to play over lunch at the rate it is going.

@scopique @massivelyop time gating, cash shop bullshit, a UI that is constantly screaming for my attention in 300 different notifications all firing at the same time... daily login nonsense.. no ability to just "play the game" without wading through all of this.

They are all universally awful. Sometimes I am bored enough to try them but rarely if ever last longer than a few weeks before realizing I am playing a button clicking chore simulator.

if nothing else #Fallout76 has won because it allowed me to create a giant dinosaur inside of a vault.

Nothing I am hearing about No Rest for the Wicked makes me think it is a game I would like. I am not a big fan of Soulslikes but even that aside the discourse about inventory pressure and item durability would destroy any enjoyment I might find.

I did not beat Breath of the Wild until I played it on an emulator where I could disable item durability. The first thing I do when I play a Bethesda game is find a mod that removes encumbrance and gives me unlimited inventory.

I would be miserable.

One of my friends linked me to this financial presentation for Square, and it looks like no #FFXIV expansion this year.

I gotta say I am kinda concerned about them breaking their release cadence and retaining subscribers.

Maybe this is just a side effect of Endwalker landing late in the year 2021 and then the expansion lands in early 2024? Not sure.
