     @belghast @scopique @massivelyop I refuse to recognize the concept of a "mobile MMO". You two may as well be arguing over potions that use narwhal horns.

     @scopique @massivelyop time gating, cash shop bullshit, a UI that is constantly screaming for my attention in 300 different notifications all firing at the same time... daily login nonsense.. no ability to just "play the game" without wading through all of this.

     They are all universally awful. Sometimes I am bored enough to try them but rarely if ever last longer than a few weeks before realizing I am playing a button clicking chore simulator.

     @massivelyop I’m going to say something other than “egregious cash-shop abuse” and go with the incessant tutorials that treat every player as if this were their first game ever.

     It goes beyond mobile MMOs, though, as I think every mobile game out there has a bad habit of “telling, not showing” players the ropes. Highlighting a button to press isn’t helping players understand WHY they would want to press it, just that they need to remember to mash it like a monkey on speed.
