For this reason, Democrats could subject the Senate to time-consuming resolution votes repeatedly, to such a degree that the Senate would not have time to do anything else for the rest of this session of Congress. In other words, Democrats could respond to the waiver vote by paralyzing the Senate, and stopping the giant Trump tax bill from ever reaching the floor.
Cecile Richards, the former president of Planned Parenthood, has died, her family said Monday in a statement. She was 67.
“This morning our beloved Cecile passed away at home, surrounded by her family and her ever-loyal dog, Ollie. Our hearts are broken today but no words can do justice to the joy she brought to our lives,” it read.
Pressed on the allegations against Gaetz of sexual misconduct, Miller replied, “I put the allegations aside. He’s never going to get confirmed. I’m looking at him as a member of Congress and the job that he has done here, and it has been abhorrent.”
Despite saying Gaetz’s actions should be disqualifying for the position, Miller was clear he wouldn’t break with Trump over the decision.
Rep. Austin Scott, another House Republican who has criticized Gaetz in the past, said the former Florida congressman would not have been his choice, naming Rep. Trey Gowdy and former Rep. Doug Collins as potential alternatives. But, he added, “I’m not Donald Trump.”
“We will build new pipelines, oil and gas facilities, petrochemical plants, hydrogen plants, and more because Alberta is an energy superpower, and we will not apologize for it,” said the premier, who was defiant against the federal government and any attempts to regulate energy and greenhouse gas emissions.
