Found her dead under some brush in the back pasture. No indication of attack on her body, wasn't egg bound, and no fluid in the lungs to suggest disease. Sometimes they just die, it's part of farming I'm afraid.

Our rooster we call Little Bit watched me bury her, and was obviously mourning her by the sounds he was making. After she was buried he stood over her grave and crowed a few times. 🐔

Missing a hen as I put the chickens away from free ranging this afternoon. Not seen in any adjacent yard or anywhere on the property. I'll be keeping them all in their pen for a few days in case a fox is about! #farming

Home from the eye surgeon, with appointments a week apart in December to laser zap the deposits behind my new lenses. Glaucoma is holding steady so I don't need surgery for that again. Yay!
