    @tk @biketooter @cycling @mastobikes I find I have a crazy steep temp gradient with almost any aerobic exercise and chronically overdress, so this makes sense to me

    companies like Google "open-sourcing" tools makes sense (especially if they can do what Go did and cram their infrastructure down your throat)

    it's good optics and those things don't give them *users* or *personal data* anyway

    @tk basically I just wouldn't want something like the chopper I was behind yesterday that goes PBBBBTBTHTBBTHT and stinks horribly of gas, and the ubiquity of motorcycles like that here makes me forget they can be kinda neat

    If you can't go fast you shouldn't be in a car, if you're in a car you should be going fast

    The primary obstacles to bikes being first-class city vehicles are a) not consistently enforcing traffic laws when bikes are involved or granting them car-equivalent right-of-way that drivers must respect to keep their license b) not having reliable bike theft prevention and reliably punishing bike thieves
